Cooler Temps & Rain

A warm afternoon as temperatures climbed in to the upper 80°s to near 100°s across southern Colorado.

We'll have a few more clouds around tomorrow and temperatures will be 10°-15° cooler than today.  There will also be a chance for a few scattered showers and thunderstorms during the afternoon.

The Storm Prediction Center also is indicating there is a "Slight Risk" for severe thunderstorms from 6am MT Tuesday through 6am MT Wednesday for extreme southeast Colorado. (see image above)  The main threat from storms will be damaging wind and large hail.

I am keeping a chance of rain in the forecast almost daily through Thursday for much of southern Colorado.  A three computer model average suggests 0.52" of rain for Colorado Springs and 0.42" of rain for Pueblo through Thursday morning.

Looking long-term... It appears as though temperatures will rebound back to the upper 80°s to middle/upper 90°s for the second half of the weekend. - Meteorologist John Dissauer
