There were lot of impressive feats were accomplished at Jeffco Stadium last weekend at the Colorado State Track and Field Championships.
One of those feats was accomplished by our latest Loaf 'N Jug Aquafina Athlete of the Week.
Coronado's Bailey Roth won the 4A boys 3200-meter run by a whopping seven seconds on Friday. A few months ago, Bailey was one of the favorites at State Cross Country. But he came down with a couple illnesses just days before the race, then collapsed during the meet, and placed outside the top-ten.
This time around, Bailey was determined to make amends-until he got sick yet again in the days leading up to State Track. But it didn't stop him. Roth took first place because of strategy and will power.
"I knew coming in that it was a little bit windy," said Roth. "There are small things that change right before you come in that you've got to make subtle adjustments to. I knew that I wanted to be super patient, and I knew that once I'm ready to make my move, there's no holding me back."
