COS officer busts out driver's window, injures hand, during chase

Colorado Springs police have a woman in custody that they say tried to over a woman in the parking lot of a King Soopers grocery store at 19th St. and Uintah St.

Police say when they arrived, shortly after the call came in around 9 a.m. Sunday, the woman drove away. They followed her to a parking lot in Old Colorado City, at 28th St. and Colorado Ave., where they told her to stop again. When the woman began to take off again Officer Mark Beck broke out the woman's driver's side window with his flashlight. He received cuts to his hand, which were treated by A.M.R. at 21st St and Lower Gold Camp Road.  The injuries to Officer Beck's hand were not serious; small cuts with glass in them.

The woman was followed into the Wal Mart parking lot on 8th Street where she was taken into custody. 59-year-old Pamela Hines is being charged with Attempted Second Degree Assault and Felony Eluding.
