Crews arrive to reported fire finding heavy smoke

Crews from the Colorado Springs Fire Department have just arrived at the scene of a reported apartment fire at 225 E. Brookside at the Brookside Apartments. When they arrived they found heavy smoke billowing from the apartment. crews immediately did a search of the apartment and adjoining apartments to look for anyone who may be still in the smoke filled apartments involved.
Crews found that the fire was already out, but are investigating cautiously for what is called extension to areas that can hide flames for several hours.
There have been no reports of injury.
