CSPD K-9's get ballistic vests

COLORADO SPRINGS - The Colorado Springs Police Department has announced that three of the finest will be receiving a specially made ballistic vest. We're not talking about officers but rather K-9 dogs!

Vested Interest in K9s Inc., a non-profit company from Massachusetts has graciously selected Jovi, Broc and Diesel as three of 100 K-9's across the country to receive a ballistic vest.

During the past week, Vested Interest in K9s, has sponsored an online campaign raising funds to provide 100 ballistic and stab proof vests for Police canines throughout the United States.

Canine Jovi, Canine Broc and Canine Diesel, the three newest additions to the CSPD K-9 family will receive their vests as a result of donations received during this campaign. The ballistic vests are valued at over $1000 and will last five years.

Because each vest is custom made, CSPD does not anticipate receiving these life saving vests for ten weeks.
