COLORADO SPRINGS - Two police K9 officers received bullet and stab protective vests courtesy of a Massachusetts based non-profit and a local chiropractor. Efforts by Vested Interest in K9s and Nick's Pro Fitness in Evergreen resulted in teh donation of two vests, valued at nearly $2000. Chiropractor Sara Schmidt organized a local fundraiser, resulting in $2300 in donations.
Vested Interest in K9's was founded in 2009 to assist law enforcement agencies in providing bullet and stab protective vests for law enforcement dogs throughout the United States. Over $880,000 worth of vests have been donated.
