The Colorado Springs Police Department and members of the community will be celebrating the CSPD Annual Awards Ceremony on Thursday, January 26th at 6:00 PM.

The ceremony at Stargazers will recognize the Civilian Employee of the Year, followed by 19 citizens who have assisted in the prevention of a crime, apprehension of a suspect or rendered outstanding service to the department.

The remaining wards include seven Department Commendations and 16 Lifesaving Awards to Colorado Springs Police Officers.

The Department Commendation reflects an outstanding act or achievement which brings credit to the department involving performance beyond the employee's normal assignment.

The Life Saving Award is given to any Police Department member for saving a human life. Although the victim may have died later, the actions prolonged life and permitted the victim to be treated by medical personnel.

Due to limited seating the ceremony will not be open to the public
