PUEBLO, Colo. (GoThunderWolves.com - April 30, 2013) - CSU-Pueblo quarterback Ross Dausin is officially getting a shot to live his NFL dream, earning a rookie minicamp invite with the Tennessee Titans Tuesday.
Dausin, the holder of nearly every CSU-Pueblo passing record who had a 32-4 record as a starting quarterback over three seasons with the ThunderWolves, becomes the fourth ThunderWolf since the football program was resurrected in 2008 to at least get a pro tryout with an NFL team. He joins Augustine Agyei, a 2010 Cincinnati Bengals rookie minicamp invitee, Lee Meisner, a 2012 Atlanta Falcons training camp invitee, and Ryan Jensen, who drafted by the Baltimore Ravens last weekend.
"It's a pretty unbelievable feeling," Dausin said of his shot with the Titans. "Growing up this was a dream, but it's just a tryout and doesn't mean a whole lot yet. I need to work hard and take advantage of this great opportunity."
News of Dausin's invite even spread to social media Monday afternoon as coaches and friends boasted of his shot, talking so loudly that even local media heard before the invite was official.
"It was awesome to see that I had that kind of support from people," Dausin said. "It's been a great three years and it was a nice surprise that is cause that kind of commotion."
The Titans' rookie minicamp begins May 9. There, Dausin will try to prove his mettle to be among a handful of quarterbacks invited to the team's training camp. In 2012, another ThunderWolf, Meisner, parlayed his rookie minicamp invite into a training camp invite.
