More than 45 local, regional, state, and national employers will participate in Colorado State University-Pueblo's Spring Career Fair from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, March 3 in the Occhiato University Center. Employer turnout is impressive given the downturn in the economy when jobs are so few.
"The Career Fair is open to the community, but will be of special interest to CSU-Pueblo students," said Michelle Gjerde, director of the Career Center. "Alumni and seniors can talk to recruiters about full-time professional opportunities. Juniors and sophomores can use this opportunity to find out about internships and summer employment. First-year and sophomore students can explore future career opportunities within their majors."
Current students, alumni, employees of the University, and members of the Pueblo community are welcome to attend this free event. Gjerde advised candidates seeking full-time employment to dress professionally and bring multiple copies of their updated resumes.
Some of the employers that will be showcasing their organizations are KOAA-TV, Airgas, AmeriCorps NCCC, Bechtel National Inc., Board of Waterworks, Colorado Springs Utilities, Colorado State Patrol, Consolidated Electrical Distributors Inc., Convergys, Crossroads Turning Points, Inc., Denver Department of Safety, Enterprise, Farmer's Insurance, Fastenal, First Command Financial, GEICO, IRS-Criminal Investigation, Lewan and Associates, Northwestern Mutual Financial Network, Parkview Medical Center, Pueblo County Sheriff's Office, Pueblo Diversified Industries, Pueblo Workforce Center, RMS, Rush Truck Centers, Sherwin Williams, Sherwin Williams Automotive Finishes, Social Security Administration, SOS Staffing, Spanish Peaks Regional Health Center, St. Mary Corwin Medical Center, Target Distribution Center, Trane, U.S. Army Recruiting, U.S. Marine Corps., University Directories, USAA, Wells Fargo Bank and WellsFargo Financial.
