CSU-Pueblo ranks lowest in cost of some online degrees

Colorado State University-Pueblo ranked first among the Best Buys in Online College Degrees for its bachelor's in social science and sociology, according to

Colorado State University-Pueblo ranked number one based on a survey of 37 regionally accredited universities that offer distance bachelor degrees. Applicants would pay about $11,880 for the entire four-year bachelor's degree--far less than the average online bachelor's in this career area, which came in at just above $32,000.

"Distance education is all about making education more accessible, especially for working adults in need of career specific higher education," according to's Founder and Chief Education Analyst Vicky Phillips. "The cost of college is a huge inhibiting factor for most Americans. Colorado State University-Pueblo is to be lauded for taking the initiative in making higher education more affordable, and therefore more accessible, for learners nationwide."

This is not the first time a Colorado State University campus distance learning initiative has ranked as a top choice for consumers. Colorado State University-Fort Collin's Graduate School of Business rated as a Best Buy among distance MBA programs accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.
