FORT COLLINS Colo. (AP) - A record-size freshman class has boosted Colorado State University's enrollment to the all-time high of 26,348.

The enrollment is up 3.7 percent from last year. The number of freshman this fall is 4,472, which breaks the previous record of 4,404 in 2008.

The incoming freshman class is 4.3 percent larger than last year's. Colorado State officials say the class includes a record 3,540 Colorado students, up 5.7 percent from last year.

Officials say the freshman class is also more diverse than in the past, with 869 low-income students and a record 753 racially and ethnically diverse students. The college with the highest freshmen enrollment continues to be Natural Sciences.
