Southern Coloradans planning to take I-25 northbound through Denver Saturday are being urged to find an alternate route due to a pileup at I-25 and Logan in Denver involving an estimated 30 vehicles or more. Denver police confirmed at least one person was killed in the crashes. The chain-reaction wreck forced the closure of northbound lanes of I-25 at University around 11:00 Saturday morning. I-25 was icy and snowpacked in the area at the time of the pileup. The Colorado Department of Transportation warned of "extremely long delays" as a result of the crashes, cleanup, and interstate closure.
