Deputy hospitalized after vehicle dragging

El Paso County Sheriff's deputies are on the lookout for the driver of a small S.U.V., dark in color. Neighbors say the driver is responsible for dragging a deputy with their vehicle.

911 dispatch received a call Saturday night around 10:40 p.m. of an injured deputy near 1600 Rosemont Drive in the Security-Widefield area. The deputy, who has not yet been identified, was taken to a local hospital for treatment. There's no word on his condition.

Neighbors say the deputy was pulling over the S.U.V. just before he was injured. They say during the traffic stop the vehicle pulled away, Witnesses are saying the deputy tried to stop the driver when he was caught on the vehicle.

The scene remained under investigation into Sunday morning.
