Dogs seized from area kennel

Nine adult German Shepards and 4 puppies have been seized by the Humane Society of the Pike Peak Region.  The dogs were reported underweight and some have other medical problems.  They were taken from Denali Kennels, owned by Jennifer Hobbs Butler and Robert Butler.

The dogs are now under the care of the Humane Society.

Jennifer Hobbs Butler was convicted in 2006 of cruelty to animals in a horse neglect case and is still on probation.

"This case is under investigation, we are discussing felony charges with the El Paso County DA because of Jennifer Hobbs Butler's prior cruelty conviction." stated Jan McHugh-Smith, President and CEO of the HSPPR.
