Domestic disturbance leads to arrest

Colorado Springs, CO - Colorado Springs police officers were dispatched last night shortly after 10:00p.m. to an apartment complex in the 2000 block of Carmel Drive to investigate a domestic disturbance and it was reported that the female involved had threatened her husband with a shotgun. When officers arrived they contacted the male and female, as well as their 16 year-old and 18 year-old sons.
Investigation revealed that during a verbal argument a woman actually threatened her husband with a handgun. The suspect then gave the gun to her 16 year old son so he could remove it from the residence.
Officers found the handgun as well as a shortened shotgun in a duffle bag in the laundry room of the apartment complex. The suspect, Kimla Gordan, 36, female was arrested for Felony Menacing, Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor, and Possession of a Dangerous/Illegal Weapon. The 16 year-old male was arrested for Possession of a handgun by a Juvenile, False Information to a Police Officer, and an unrelated warrant.
There were no injuries to anyone involved in this incident.
