Colorado's best-known tax-basher has the government in fits again.
Douglas Bruce has been given a second delay in the contempt-of-court charge against him. The Colorado Springs man was in court Wednesday to answer contempt charges after being accused of avoiding subpoenas in a lawsuit over three tax-cutting proposals on Colorado ballots this fall.
Denver District Court Judge Brian Whitney awarded the delay, but not before chewing out Bruce from the bench. Whitney complained that the case has turned into a tennis match, with Bruce deflecting volleys from the government.
Bruce was subpoenaed by government lawyers who want to know what role Bruce played in this year's ballot initiatives. Bruce says he was out of town, not dodging questions.
