COLUMBUS, Ohio - A Columbus, school bus driver is charged with OVI, open container, and child endangerment after allegedly being found drunk while driving students.
According to Columbus City Schools spokesman Jeff Warner, the investigation began when a parent called the transportation department to report that their child's bus was late dropping off students Monday afternoon.
The bus driver, Tia Denton, was transporting two students, and according to the GPS system in the bus, she was off her assigned route, Warner said.
Once the bus was located, police handled the situation, administering a Breathalyzer test.
According to a report from Columbus police, an open bottle of whiskey was found in the bus.
