Driver dead after hitting snow plow truck

Update: Highway 67 has been reopened.

DIVIDE - A driver is dead after colliding with a state snow plow truck in Teller County.

The crash happened just before noon on Tuesday on Colorado Highway 67 between Cripple and Divide, closing the road.

Capt. Charles Cargin of the Colorado State Patrol told The Gazette that the driver of a pickup truck lost control on a right turn and hit the blade of the snow plow.

A spokeswoman for the Colorado Department of Transportation, Amy Ford, says the plow was removing snow at the time of the crash. She says department supervisors will investigate along with the State Patrol.
