Snow covered parts of Southern Colorado Thursday morning causing drivers to use extra caution while navigating the slick surfaces.
But although the sun may be out, drivers still need to use extra caution throughout the day as those slick conditions persist.
"I would encourage people to drive accordingly to the conditions, and it should be anticipated that you'll be dealing with slick spots and areas where you should take caution for sure," said CDOT representative, Jeremy Reichert.
Temperatures for the day are expected to remain low meaning that for your evening commute, much of that melted snow will gain second life as black ice.
So it all comes back to safety on the roads. Giving plenty of space, plenty of time, and most importantly getting home safe and sound.
