A Red Flag Warning continues today for El Paso, Pueblo, Fremont, Teller, Huerfano, Custer, and western Las Animas counties. A Red Flag Warning means weather conditions are such that wildfires can ignite and spread easily due to low humidity and blustery winds.
Dry conditions are likely as a downslope wind lowers the humidity that was actually somewhat high early Monday. Lowering humidity will prevent any rain from developing, but the wind will be warm and brisk and will bring temperatures into the 80's and 90's across Southern Colorado once again today.
Tuesday and Wednesday will not provide many changes, but a chance for rain enters the forecast beginning Thursday. While that chance for rain is slight and any rain that does develop will likely be spotty, it will stay with us as an upslope wind increases through the weekend. That upslope wind will also increase humidity late this week and this weekend, which will be a huge help in fighting the fires burning across the state.
