TONIGHT: Expect some gusty winds at times overnight as a cold front & weak storm approach. Winds will gust up to 30-40 mph around Teller and northern El Paso County as well as around Walsenburg, La Veta and Trinidad. Gusts around Fremont County will be up around 30 mph...with lighter winds expected east for Pueblo, La Junta and Lamar. Thanks to the winds and the increased cloud cover our low temps will stay around 40 for the Springs and in the mid to upper 30's for Pueblo. Along and west of the Continental Divide snow will fall and finally accumulate. 2-3 inches will fall around Monarch Pass, Crested Butte and Copper Mountain.
MONDAY: First Monday of the new month will start out a little gusty. Our high temps tomorrow will be about 4-6 degrees cooler than Sunday's highs. Skies will begin the day partly to mostly cloudy, but will become mostly sunny by afternoon with winds becoming lighter.
TUESDAY: It will be a colder start to the day in the 20's. Afternoon highs will make it up to about 54 for Colorado Springs and about 59 in Pueblo.
WEDNESDAY: Expect a big warm-up with plenty of sunshine and temps in the mid 60's in the Springs and about 70 in Pueblo. Keep in mind that average high temps this time of the year should only be in the lower 40's in the Springs and upper 40's in Pueblo.
THURSDAY: The first of a couple of cool front will push through the area. High temps should be about 10 degrees cooler compared to Wednesday. Skies will be mostly sunny to partly cloudy. Another weak disturbance will move into the high country...so there will be a few more light snow showers across the Continental Divide again, especially late in the day and overnight.
FRIDAY: Behind that weak storm system it will be sunny and even cooler. Highs will drop another 4-6 degrees...about 49 in the Springs and 53 in Pueblo. Skies will be mostly sunny and winds will be fairly light.
SATURDAY: Mostly sunny to partly cloudy and a couple of degrees warmer than Friday. Another storm will pushing into the Colorado Mountains bringing another round of a few snow showers, gusty winds and cooler air.
SUNDAY: We'll end the weekend with cooler temps as well here along the Front Range...and maybe even a chance of a light shower or two. Chances are pretty slim at the lower elevations and it is still a week away, but we'll be watching the path and progress of this next system.
Have a great week!
