Editor Nan Graham wins lifetime achievement prize

NEW YORK (AP) - Editor and publisher Nan Graham, whose authors have included Stephen King, Ann Beattie and Don DeLillo, has won a lifetime achievement prize.

Graham, Scribner's senior vice president and editor-in-chief, won the Maxwell E. Perkins Award for distinguished achievement in fiction. The prize was announced Thursday by the nonprofit Center for Fiction. The award is named for the celebrated editor of Ernest Hemingway and F. Scott Fitzgerald.

Previous winners include Jonathan Galassi of Farrar, Straus & Giroux and Doubleday's Nan A. Talese.
