EMT arrested in several rape cases

NEW YORK (AP) - New York officials say an emergency medical technician with special access via a universal "fireman's key" sexually assaulted five women and girls since 2001.

A gunman forced a woman into a car Monday and raped her in Brooklyn. On July 11, an 11-year-old girl was attacked by a man with a gun in an elevator.  Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly says 33-year-old Angus Pascall used the fireman's key to control the elevator. FDNY spokesman Jim Long says Pascall has been suspended without pay. The technician has worked for the department for more than five years.

In previous incidents, authorities say a woman was raped at gunpoint in her home and another was attacked in an elevator. A 14-year-old girl was assaulted behind an apartment building. Police announced Wednesday that Pascall had been arrested on rape and other charges. The name of his attorney was not immediately available.
