Falcon homeowner walks in on burglar

A Falcon man was shocked when he walked in on a burglar at his home Monday morning. It happened at 10:30 in the 8000 block of Fort Smith Road in Falcon. The homeowner says he left work early and when he got home, came face to face with the burglar.

He said he was stunned, and the burglar immediately took off through the front door.

The El Paso County Sheriff's Office said the suspect did get away with four guns and other valuables, and as he fled the scene in a dark blue Dodge minivan, he picked up three other men on the same street. It's unclear what they were doing in the area and why the suspected burglar picked them up.

Public Information Office, Lt. Jeff Kramer, said luckily in this case the homeowner wasn't hurt, and the suspect ran away instead of engaging the homeowner.

"You don't know what they're capable of or what their intentions would be," said Kramer. "You don't know what may occur and that's why we want folks to avoid those encounters if possible."

The suspect in the burglary is described as a white male in his early 20's, about 5'4" tall with a thin build. He was last seen wearing a dark blue t-shirt and jeans or jean shorts. Again, the vehicle they fled in was a 2002 dark blue Dodge Caravan.
