It was one year ago that Carlos Lave was killed outside a Pueblo bar. His family is still searching for answers.
"You wonder how long this is going to take. But you can't give up", said Laurine Jordan, Carlos' mother.
Carlos Lave, 22, was shot January 30, 2011 at the Club Manor Sports Bar in Pueblo. Police said there was a fight inside the bar right before Carlos was shot. Before he could make it to the hospital he died in his friends arms. Police said the incident was gang related, and believe dozens of people likely witnessed the shooting. But because of a "code of silence, nobody has stepped forward.
"He died in their arms and they don't say nothing, That's like gee come on. He didn't deserve that. It's not about being a snitch or nothing it's about caring for him. Did you care for him? He was a person", said Laurine Jordan.
Police have received some leads but nothing has pointed to an arrest.
"We investigate each lead to the end. The case is open and active. So we are currently looking at anything that we can to solve the case", said Cody Wagner with the Pueblo Police Department.
On Monday the family will hold a Candle light vigil to mark the one-year death anniversary of their son. They're prayer is that the shooter be brought to justice.
"He doesn't deserve for his murderers to be walking around or whatever they're doing", said Laurine Jordan.
The family is hoping someone will come forward.
"If anyone has seen or knows anything, come forward and help us so we can bring closure to our heartache", said Luis Lave, Carlos' farther.
The vigil will be held January 30, 2012 at 4066 Club Manor Dr. in Pueblo
