COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - An Army Ranger who died after insurgents attacked his unit in Afghanistan was the son of an Army
veteran who also had served in Afghanistan.
Twenty-year-old Pfc. Christopher Horns of Colorado Springs and two other soldiers were killed in the attack Saturday in Kandahar
province. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment at Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Washington state.
The Gazette reports Horns' father, Larry Horns, was in the Army for nearly 30 years and had served a tour in Afghanistan.
Christopher Horns' aunt-in-law Martha Horns says she had never seen such pride as she did when her nephew talked about serving his
country. The Gazette reports Christopher Horns had recently proposed to his girlfriend.
