The FBI is getting involved in a case of alleged police misconduct in Denver.
FBI spokesman Dave Joly said Tuesday that the agency has agreed to look into the case at the request of Mayor John Hickenlooper. However, the FBI won't say whether or not that will lead to an official investigation.
At issue is an arrest of two men outside a nightclub last year that was caught on police video. It shows an officer grabbing one of them and forcing him down. The camera moves back, but a person in the corner of the frame can be seen repeatedly striking something.
An independent police monitor says the video shows an officer doctored his account about what happened.
The city's safety manager says the video doesn't tell the whole story.
