After years of work, Southern Colorado finally appears to be in line for a National Cemetery.
Rep. Doug Lamborn, who represents Colorado Springs, announced that the funding is in the bill sent to Congress by President Barack Obama.
"This shows a firm commitment from the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to build a new national cemetery for the thousands of veterans in our area," said Rep. Lamborn. "This is extremely encouraging because veterans and their loved ones need a Southern Colorado VA cemetery. I am pleased the Administration is listening to our veterans and responding to their needs."
Rep. Lamborn says he'll push to have the cemetery placed in El Paso County.
