Fewer showers & hotter today

Sinking motion in the atmosphere associated with high pressure will limit the coverage or rain in Southern Colorado today. Rising motion is what we need for rain to form, and any rising motion is going to be limited to the mountains and the Palmer Divide. That means IF rain occurs, it's most likely going to fall high on the Palmer Divide or in the mountains.

The high pressure is also going to warm the air, and highs will be in the upper 80's and lower 90's along the Palmer Divide with dry 90's and 100's along and south of the Arkansas River.

Tomorrow will be very similar to today, but scattered showers could return to the area later this week.
