Thunderstorms will develop in the mountains again today, but moisture is decreasing in the air so the thunderstorms will be less widespread and more spotty in nature. That means fewer areas will see rain, but the rain could be heavy in the areas that do get a dousing. If that heavy rain falls on the burn scars, flash flooding could happen again today.
With a little more sun, temperatures will be warmer. Expect highs in the upper 70's and lower 80's around Colorado Springs and the rest of the Palmer Divide. Highs along and south of the Arkansas River will be in the middle 80's. In Teller County, 60's and 70's are expected.
The drying and warming trends will continue throughout the remainder of the week, and we will stay mainly warm and dry this weekend.
