Three female middle school students from the Galileo School of Math and Science were taken by ambulance to the hospital following a fight with an unidentified woman at a bus stop Wednesday morning.

School District 11 spokesperson Devra Ashby said it is unclear who started the fight and that the students were taken to the hospital as a precaution.

The altercation took place at around 9:00 a.m. at the intersection of E. San Miguel St. and Delaware Dr.

Ashby says the fight seems to have broken out between the woman and one of the girls. The others were apparently injured trying to intervene.

The bus driver quickly got the girls onboard and drove out of the area. Paramedics and police officers met the bus near Queen Palmer Elementary.

The Colorado Springs Police Department is now investigating the incident. Spokesperson Barbara Miller says two juvenile males have been served with assault charges. It's unclear how they are related to the fight.
