Fire crews gaining upper hand on grass fire

Fire crews appear to be gaining the upper hand on a grass fire east of Colorado Springs. It broke out just before 2 p.m. Firefighters from across the region responded to the scene.

Early reports said the fire burned 100 acres---we're waiting for a better estimate.

This picture from reporter Stephanie Collins shows the burn area near Highway 94 and Curtis Rd.
