A KOAA News 5 crew was first on the scene when Colorado Springs Fire Fighters got control of what could have potentially been a serious incident. Fire crews were training relatively close to the area of 16th and W Colorado Ave at 12:40pm when a call of an explosion and possible structure fire flooded into 911.
When crews arrived they found an RV Camper and a detached garage house within inches fully involved in fire. Crews also noted suspended power lines directly above the structure being burnt as well.
The power line was secured and fire fighters were able to get right to work extinguishing the fire. According to one unidentified person who claimed to be in the RV at the time there was an explosion and then immediately after a fire. Neighbors from behind the structure and RV involved were able to capture armature video and still photos then describe what they saw to News 5.
More updates will follow as details become available.
