A 900 acre wildfire east of Rush is now contained. 10 fire agencies, including several from El Paso County assisted Lincoln County on the fire that started around 11a.m. The fire was just off Highway 94 on County Rd. 2A, about 7 miles east of Rush. Quick work from more the 35 firefighters on the scene saved structures in the path of the fast moving grass fire. Smoke could be seen from Colorado Springs and all over eastern El Paso County. Crews are still making sure that hot spots don’t flare up. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
