Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper authorized $2.5-million from emergency funds to help with fighting the Bear and Purgatoire fires in Las Animas County. These fires and previous fires have emptied the states emergency fund. Despite that Hickenlooper says personal safety is priority. "You've got homes in the way, you've got people's livelihoods, you've got livestock...let's deal with the emergency we've got right now and we'll begin looking for other resources and other reserve funds if we continue having wildfires."
