Five Thunderwolves land on Preseason All American List

LEESBURG, Va. (GoThunderWolves.com - July 23, 2014) - A total of five senior Colorado State University-Pueblo football players have been named to the Beyond Sports Network (BSN) Preseason Division II All-America Team in advance of the upcoming 2014 season.

Returning RMAC Offensive Player of the Year and Harlon Hill Award Candidate Chris Bonner (San Diego, Calif.) and Gene Upshaw Award Winner Darius Allen (Pueblo, Colo.) were first team selections at the quarterback and defensive end positions, respectively. The other ThunderWolves selected were wide receiver Paul Browning (Widefield, Colo.), cornerback Stephan Dickens (Aurora, Colo.) and offensive tackle Austin Payne (Pueblo West, Colo.). Browning and Dickens were second team selections while Payne earned third team plaudits.

The team was chosen based on returning All-Americans from the 2013 BSN All-America Football Team, highest vote recipients in the voting, statistics and game evaluations.

Additionally, the Pack had a league-high 11 selections to the BSN Preseason All-RMAC team. All five of the aforementioned players earned those nods as did running back Chris Ashe, offensive lineman Zack Martinez (Jr., Redlands, Calif.), defensive linemen Morgan Fox (Jr., Fountain, Colo.) and Tony Campton (Jr., Littleton, Colo.), linebacker Ben Estica (Jr., Palm Beach, Fla.) and cornerback C.J. Roberts (Sr., Boynton Beach, Calif.) and safety Jarrod Lacy (Sr., Boynton Beach, Fla.).

The all-conference selections were made by the BSN staff based on returning performers from the 2013 RMAC All Conference Football Team, game evaluations, and overall statistics.
