Flight training at Air Force Academy resumes

The Air Force Academy says all civilian workers have returned after the partial government shutdown.

The 306th flying training group flight program started back up Wednesday.

They are implementing a return to fly plan in order to get instructor pilots their currency proficiency sorties. If the academy feels they need more rides for instructors to be fully prepared to provide instruction again, they will slow down the timeline and give them more opportunities to ensure they are adequately prepared and proficient.

In a release to News 5, the Air Force Academy said, "our goal is to come out of this layoff in a safe manner."
