Thursday was the grand opening of a new restaurant and coffee shop at the Colorado Springs Airport.
Folks are now getting a taste of local Colorado as they arrive and depart.
"These are two new food and beverage concepts that we have at the airport, the really exciting part is that these are local and regional concepts," said Mark Earle, Director of Aviation.
Earle says they've been working for years to make the Colorado Springs Airport more representative of the community.
That's where the Bristol Brewing Company Taproom and Novo Coffee come in.
"They're products that are very popular in the region and something that people can call their own," he said.
Thursday evening is the grand opening, even though they've been operating for the past few weeks.
Owner Mike Bristol says he's already seen a great response.
"People come up to me all the time and say hey I flew through Colorado Springs this is the greatest thing, we love it," said Bristol.
For the last 18 years, Springs residents have enjoyed the Bristol Brewing Company.
That local flavor is why the airport approached them.
"These are products that people are familiar with," said Earle.
Also familiar, the menu.
Travelers will now be able to sample beers and buy merchandise, all with a distinct Springs flavor.
"We think it came out really nice it's got a lot of sort of the bristol atmosphere," said Bristol.
Mayor Bach was at the grand opening, where he, Bristol, and Earle went against each other in a shuffleboard tournament.
As for the Bristol Taproom and Novo Coffee, they open at 7am and last call is with the last flight.
