Flooding forces scout evacuations for second time

HUERFANO COUNTY- 156 Boy Scouts have been evacuated from the Spanish Peaks Scout Ranch southwest of Walsenburg.

The county Office of Emergency Management says there may be injuries. 

The Red Cross has opened an evacuation center at the Huerfano Community Center on Russell Avenue in Walsenburg.

High waters caused the evacuations at 9:45 p.m. on Wednesday.

This is the second time in eight days that the ranch has been evacuated. News 5 was there on July 8 when flooding forced 100 scouts to evacuate.
