Flooding rain possible Sunday

Though the immediate threat for flash flooding ends tonight as the storms fade away, the threat is once again possible Sunday.

A Flash Flood Watch is in effect from noon Sunday until noon Monday for Teller and El Paso Counties. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are likely Sunday afternoon, Sunday night, and Monday morning for all of Southern Colorado. Brief heavy downpours are possible with any shower or storm that develops. Areas in and around the Black Forest and Waldo Canyon burn scars need to be on alert for the potential for flash flooding at any time Sunday and Sunday night.

The showers and storms will eventually move out as we go into Monday afternoon. Expect cooler temperatures after this round of rain. Highs will be in the 70s for most Monday with highs in the 70s/80s Tuesday. The middle of the week looks partly sunny and mainly dry for now as temperatures heat back up into the 80s/90s by Wednesday. A slight chance for storms returns to the region by the end of the week.
