The river that's submerged parts of Nashville is expected to start receding today, but the city's
problems are far from over.
Rescuers are worried they might find more victims as the muddy flood waters ebb. The flooding caused by torrential rain over the weekend has already claimed 18 lives in Tennessee, including 10 in Nashville. Bodies have been found in homes, a yard and outside a supermarket.
The flooding has prompted election officials to delay Nashville's local primary, which had been set for today. And restaurants and other businesses along Nashville's riverfront are closed after losing electricity early today when a main circuit failed.
Damage estimates range into the tens of millions of dollars.
The weekend storms also killed six people in Mississippi and four in Kentucky. One person was killed by a tornado in western Tennessee.
