Florida sheriff "angered" by pedophilia book; Pueblo author arrested

Phillip Greaves II is being held at the Pueblo County jail this morning. The 47-year old was arrested on obscenity charges out of Florida after he sold and mailed his book "The Pedophile's Guide to Love and Pleasure: a Child-lover's Code of Conduct" to deputies in Polk County, Florida.

"When we look at his editorial comment in the rest of the book we were shocked and angered," said Grady Judd, sheriff of Polk County, Florida during a news conference in Florida Monday.

"I want to thank the Florida legislature for creating law that allows us to deal with someone who would write a book specifically targeting out youngest--our children for violent, vicious illegal sexually activity," said Sheriff Judd. "There may be nothing that the other 49 states can do but there's something the state of Florida can do and there is something that the 10th Judicial Circuit did and what our sheriff's office did and that's to make sure we prosecute Phillip Greaves for his manifesto," he added.

In November, Greaves received national attention after his book was sold on The book was pulled from the website within a few days.

On November 10, News First 5 interviewed Greaves at his house on Pueblo's eastside. Greaves denied that the book encouraged pedophilia. "I wanted to provide some guidelines for pedophiles so that they could avoid harming their victims," said Greaves. "It's a guide to love and pleasure, it's not a guide to abusing children," he added.

According to the Polk County Sheriff's Office Greaves is being charged with distribution of obscene material depicting minors engaged in conduct harmful to minors. The offense is a 3rd degree felony under Florida law.

The Polk County Sheriff is seeking extradition of Greaves to Florida. "I would like him to spend Christmas in our county jail eating processed turkey," said Sheriff Judd.
