Flu vaccines are grown in chicken eggs--problematic for people allergic to eggs.

But this flu season, people with egg allergies shouldn't be worried about getting the seasonal influenza vaccine, which includes protection against H1N1, experts say. A new study found that the vaccines are safe for people with egg allergies.

However, the vaccine should be given under the supervision of an allergist or immunologist.

Dr. Matthew Greenhawt, an allergist and immunologist at the University of Michigan Health Systems and Dr. James T. Li, an allergist at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., published a paper on the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology website.
