Focus on the Family plans Super Bowl ad

Focus on the Family plans to air a 30-second television ad during the Super Bowl Feb. 7 featuring Florida quarterback and 2007 Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow.

The Colorado Springs-based ministry describes the ad airing before and during the game as "life- and family affirming." Focus spokesman Gary Schneeberger said Friday the spot was filmed Tuesday in Orlando with Tebow and his mother, Pam.

While declining donations has forced the ministry to cut 275 jobs in recent years, Schneeberger says many donors gave specifically for the project.

Schneeberger declined to say how much the project cost. TNS Media Intelligence estimates a 30-second slot that will reach an estimated 100 million views costs between $2.5 million and $2.8 million.
