DENVER (AP) - A conservative Christian group is taking up sponsorship of a high-school outreach program to talk about sexual orientation.

Focus on the Family of Colorado Springs said Thursday it will take over sponsorship of the former "Day of Truth," which has been co-sponsored since 2005 by Exodus International, a Christian group in Orlando, Fla. Focus on the Family has renamed the April observance "Day of Dialogue" and is trying to promote it as a day to talk about homosexuality in schools, not to decry gays.

Focus spokesman Gary Schneeberger says the sponsorship cost is "minimal." The other co-sponsor remains the Alliance Defense Fund, a group of Christian attorneys. The sponsorship change was first reported by CNN.
