Several counties in Colorado are experiencing a backlog of people requesting food stamps. In Pueblo County, the case load increased from 9,000 to 15,000 households in the last 18 months.
A county administrator in Pueblo says her office is simply understaffed to handle the increase in clients. One woman we talked with says she waited 3 months to get her food stamps.
