ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (AP) - Defensive backs Jack Long and Shane Simpson are heroes -- and not just on the gridiron. The Missouri Western football players saved a toddler from a hot car. The players were driving from practice when they saw a woman frantically beating on the window of a car. They stopped to help. Turns out Teresa Gall had accidentally locked her 17-month-old grandson in the car with the keys. She couldn't break the window. But Simpson was able to bust out the window with just one swing. Gall tells KSHB-TV she offered to pay the players, but they refused.
