Some welcome news for the Detroit area after the city recently filed bankruptcy.
Ford Motor Company is on a hiring blitz.
It's a sign that the auto industry continues to get stronger, and those who live there are excited about the new opportunities.
Many of them have been looking for work for awhile.
Ford is looking to hire 800 new workers for salaried jobs.
"When the plants were down, the whole city was down, so now the plants are up, maybe stuff is about to look up again," said Marc Renfroe, who's looking for work.
The new jobs are apart of the push to fill 3,000 positions to continue the company's product momentum and new growth.
About 85-90% of the hires will be in Michigan.
