A truck hauling hundreds of practice rockets for the military crashed on Interstate 25 north of Denver, but the munitions remained safe and intact.

Fort Carson spokesman Lt. Col. Steve Wollman says the truck was carrying 10 pallets of 2.75-inch practice rockets that were not live, with 48 rockets on each pallet.

A passenger in the truck was injured. Broomfield police say the driver was cited with careless driving causing injury.

The truck hit a guardrail around 5 a.m. Wednesday along the northbound lanes of I-25 near Colorado 7.
