Fountain teen spends Spring Break at Space Camp

FOUNTAIN - A local teenager spent her Spring vacation at Space Camp. Clarissa Allen is a junior at Fountain Fort Carson High School. She is one of just four students from Colorado to attend the Honeywell Leadership Challenge Academy at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama.

Clarissa says the experience opened her eyes to the career possiblities in the space industry.

"I had a little bit of interest in it mainly because of the math stand point, but after doing this, I'm a lot more interested in doing the science aspects, like technology and space travel," Allen said.

She adds that her favorite part of the trip was riding the zip line. More than 200 students from 30 countries attended this year's camp.
